We’ll le you know when you we have a date for a new date for the fixture. The U21s are in action at Conyers – lick off 2pm. Please come down and support the U21s to get your Y&E football fix.
Before reading this – it’s been raining a lot on Teesside. With more rain to come overnight. So there is a pitch inspection Saturday 15th November AM to decide if the game can go ahead or not. Info will be shared on our social medial channels – keep an eye out! If the game doesn’t go ahead – you can still get your Y&E fix at Conyers, where our U21 side take on Thornaby FC reserves in a 2pm kick off.

If the pitch is playable, it’ll be Jarrow FC making the trip down the A19 to face the Y&E. The match is sponsored by Dragontail Consulting and the match all sponsored by Y&E stalwart Jim Topping. Thank you for your support, it is massively appreciated.
The game kicks off at 3pm, gates open from 2pm. A printed match programme is on sale. The cafe is stocked with burgers and pies and we’ll have a half time blindcard for sale. Winner takes a bottle of Baileys.
Jarrow were right up there at the top of the league with us last season, and missed out on promotion after losing to Thornaby on penalties on the playoff final. They finished third in the league, just behind us. This season I had them down as one of the favourites for promotion, and after a relatively slow start which saw them in 16th place in the league after 11 games they’ve climbed steadily up the league with an excellent run of form and currently sit in 7th place on 37 points after playing 22 games.
Form wise Jarrow have won 4 of their last 6, including wins against Seaham Red Star and Ryton & Crawcrook Albion. Their last two games included a draw against Alnwick Town and a 3-1 defeat away at Park View. They have a better away record than how record so far this season, W6, D3 and L2 , compared to W4, D4 and L2 at home
Goal scoring wise, their top scorer is Lutfur Karim with seven, followed by Jay Barber on 6 and Ryan Hardie on 5.
We played Jarrow back in early August, a scorching hot day on Tyneside. The Y&E winning 2-1 with two late first half goals from Ste Roberts and Tom Atkinson cancelling out a 24th minute Luke Hudson strike. Hudson was sent off early in the second half. An important early victory for us, with a few players unavailable seeing Ethan Jones making his league debut in central defence.
Last season we took victory in both games. At home in September 2024, winning 3-2 in an absolute cracker of a Northern League game, JL10, Reece McMann and Harry Williams on the scoresheet to cap of a man of the match performance. Away from home we won 2-1 just before Christmas, Cam Wild and Tom Atkinson scoring for the Y&E.
The Y&E go in to this one, on a three game winning streak in the league. Over the last 10 games we’ve took 24 points, the blotches on the copybook being an away defeats at Billy Town and Prudhoe. Tom is fine scoring form, the two goals against Tow Law taking his tally to 15 goals league goals so far this campaign.
With the games coming thick and fast, there may be some changes from Tuesday night. There are no major injury concerns, with Charlie Fixter’s injury not as serious as first feared following him being substituted against Fulwood last Sunday.
It’ll be a really tough game against Jarrow. They always against them. They’ll be backed by a decent number of the Hackle Hecklers. With it being an international break, hopefully a good number of the Y&E faithful will be there backing the lads. We’ll see you there (weather permitting)
