Next up for the Y&E is another big game. The second round of the FA Vase, with Fulwood Amateurs making the trip over from Lancashire to Bedford Terrace.
The game is sponsored by the Carpet Doctor Teesside and the matchball is sponsored by The Beauty Club Yarm. Thank you for your support it is massively appreciated. The game kicks off at 3pm, with gates open from 2pm. A printed match programme is on sale, and the cafe is open with a cracking selection of food on sale. As it’s an FA Vase game, season tickets aren’t valid. It’s £6 in for adults, £4 concessions and accompanied U16s are free.

The prize for winning is not just a place in the nxt round, but also an automatic entry in to the frist round proper of the FA Vase next season. With only North Shields still in the FA Vase from the Ebac Northern League, its a chance for the Y&E double Northern League representation and continue on the road to Wembley. Its a huge game for the club.
Fulwood head over to Teesside currently sitting in 9th place in North West Counties League First Division North. They’ve won 5, drawn 3 and lost 3 of their 11 league games so far. For context Colne who we defeated in the first round, are currently 12th in the league, three points behind Fulwood. Fulwood beat Colne 5-2 earlier this season. Games involving Fulwood are full of goals, they’ve scored 29 in their 11 league games and conceded 24. Last time out they won 4-3 at home against Droylsden.
In the FA Vase so far they drew 1-1 with AFC Blackpool in the first qualifying round. Winning 3-2 on penalties. In the 2nd qualifying round they had an impressive 5-1 home win against Northern League Division one side Kendal Town. In the last round they beat Runcorn Town 3-1 away.
The player to watch from Fulwood is Spencer Lucas. He has scored 19 goals in the 15 games he’s played in all competitions so far this season, including 4 in their last two FA Vase games. It could be shootout between two in form strikers- Tom Atkinson & Spencer Lucas.
There is a bit of family connection between the two teams. Midfield enforcer Charlie “CF7” Fixter’s younger brother Joe Fixter has been lining up for the Fulwood reserve side this season, and his Grandad Jim
Parkinson played for Fulwood back in the early 1960s. We are sure that they’ll be backing the Y&E this weekend.
After the last Saturdays important victory vs Chester le Street Town, Jacko has a couple of suspensions to deal with. Harry Stewart Titchner and Ste Roberts both picked up two yellows in the FA Vase so far, so will be unavailable for the Fulwood Game. Aside from that Jacko has a pretty much full squad to choose from. Josh Marshall is back after missing the last two games, he’ll be backed by his family who are making the trip over from Milan to watch the game. Josh Larkin got more minutes in his legs against Chester le Street, as his injury return continues.
We’ll also be extending a warm welcome to TIBS U7 Blues who will be mascots for the game. We hope you enjoy the day.
Get yourself down to Bedford Terrace to back the lads.
