Next up is our first ever game in the FA Cup as we welcome Northern Premier League East side West Auckland Town to Bedford Terrace.
The match & matchball are kindly sponsored by Stoneacre Volvo, thank you for your support. The game kicks off at 3pm at Bedford Terrace TS23 4AG. Gates open from 2pm. Cash & card accepted on the gate

West Auckland Town are one of the most well known non league sides in the Country, they were founded in 1893 and are famous for winning the winners of the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy, one of the world’s first international footballing competitions, twice, in 1909 and 1911.

More recently they secured promotion from Ebac Northern League division 1 last season, with a 2-1 win over local rivals Shildon in the playoff final. An 80th min equaliser from Jaedon Faulkner was followed by a 90+5 min penalty from Craig Moody to seal a historic promotion on May 2nd. The same day we secured promotion to Division one. That was there last competitive match
Last season in the FA Cup they made it to the 2nd qualifying round. A 2-1 victory in the replay away against Bridlington Town after a 2-2 draw at home was followed by a 3-1 win at home against Wythenshaw in the first qualifying round before a 1-0 defeat at home against National League North side Spennymoor Town.
Form wise – it’s a blank slate for West Auckland. Their last pre season Friendly was back on 25th July where they won 1-0 away at Hebburn Town. Before that was a 5-2 away win at Sunderland RCA. One thing is for sure they’ll have plenty of quality & will be a tough opponent today.
As for the Y&E, our first defeat in 222 days (might have counted that wrong) on Tuesday against Penrith. We weren’t at our best, but still had chances. Jacko had the lads in for training on Thursday to work on a few points & he’ll be looking for a positive reaction today. Squad wise, as ever at this time of year there are a few players unavailable but we will have a strong matchday squad available.
The weather looks decent, there is no Boro game to clash with and there’ll hopefully by a cup upset on the cards! We hope to see you at the game.
As a reminder, season tickets aren’t valid for this game. It’s £7 adults, £5 concessions, £2 12-16s & U12s free. We have limited numbers of match programmes left on sale at the ground. 50/50 tickets are on sale & the cafe will be open pre & during the game. See you there!
