Y&E Head to Prudhoe looking to keep winning run going

Next up for the Y&E is a trip to the Tyne Valley & Essity Park where we will face Prudhoe YC Seniors.

The game kicks off at 3pm, postcode for the ground is NE42 5EH. As ever this season our away games are sponsored by Dragontail Consulting. Thanks again for your support, it is massively appreciated.

It promises to be a bit on the breezy side up at Prudhoe with Storm Amy passing through. Fingers crossed it doesn’t impact the game too much, although it wouldn’t be a season in the Northern League with at least a few games played in minor hurricane conditions.

Prudhoe currently sit in 17th place in the league on 18 points. So far at home they have played 9, won 2, drawn 1 and Lost 6. Last time out at home they won 3-2 vs Durham United, and they followed this up with a 3-0 away win at Tow Law last Saturday. With two consecutive wins, they will be coming in to this game with some confidence, looking to make it 3 wins from 3. Top scorers this season for Prudhoe are Thomas Wilson with 4 and Brad Lowes with 3.

Last season we drew 0-0 at home in early September and won 4-0 away in late March. An early Worldie from Hillers was followed a minute later by a Josh Larkin goal. Reece McMann made it 3 juts before half time and Sam Lawerence with a nice finish on 70mins to make it 4. That was up there with one of our best away performances last season.

We come in to the game in an excellent run of form, winning our last 5 in the league and the away win at Pickering in the FA Vase making it six wins out of six. We’ve only conceded 2 goals in those six games, whilst scoring 16. Jacko will have some choices to make with leading marksman Tom Atkinson back available for selection after missing the last 4 games. dan Jones will be reluctant to lose the number 9 shirt after a couple of barnstorming displays up front. Talismanic midfielder Harry Stewart Titchner is out after racking up 5 bookings, so he serves a one game suspension.

Hopefully we’ll see a few of the Y&E faithful making the trip today as we seek to keep our excellent run of form going.
