Next up for the Y&E is a Teeside Derby as Grangetown Boys club make the trip to Bedford Terrace. The game kicks off at 3pm Saturday 29th November. Thanks to Dragontail Consulting for sponsoring the game and to chair of the Y&E’s Scottish supporters branch Liam Collow for sponsoring the match ball. Your support is massively appreciated.
Given the recent wet weather, there will be a pitch inspection this morning. Updates will be provided on our social media channels.

The Boysie currently sit in 19th place in the league on 17 points, just above the bottom three. They’ve won 4 of their 22 games so far this season, losing 14 and drawing draw 5, one their draws – which was against the Y&E way back in August, where a late Tom Atkinson goal for us was enough to salvage a point.
Away from home Grangetown are W1, D2 L8. Their sole win coming in a 2-0 win at Synners in mid August. Last time out in the league they were defeated 2-1 away at Alnwick Town. Since then they’ve had 2 cup games, beating Whitby Town Under 18s 3-0 in the North Riding Senior Cup and losing 3-0 to Chester le Street Town in the Ernst Armstrong League Cup last Tuesday.
Last season in the corresponding fixture, we won 5-0. Tom with a first minute goal and Ste Roberts in the first half, before Joe Dalton, Ste again and Josh Larkin scored in the second half. Ste’s second goal was an absolutely worldie, a sublime volley from distance. Just a shame it was before we got our Veo!
After the last two league games fell foul of the weather, it’s a chance to get back to league action and keep the pressure on the teams around us. Whilst the Boysie are at the other end of the table from us, we know from our days in the North Riding League against them that they always make it difficult for us and that we will need to be at our best to get the three points.
Despite the abundance of cards against York City last Wednesday, the suspensions for Dougs and Jack Dalton don’t kick in until the 3rd December, similarly for Joe Hillerby who notched up his 5th booking of the season. All three are available for selection today. Charlie Fixter and Ross Harrison are unlikely to make the squad with injuries, but nevertheless there is plenty of strength and depth for Jacko to choose from.
Hopefully we will see you there. As ever there will be hot food & drinks for sale in the cafe, Minty will be selling printed programmes and numbers for the half time blind card.
Howay the mighty back to league action Y&E 🔵⚪️🦅
