Next up for the Y&E is a home game vs Prudhoe YC this Saturday. The game kicks off at 3pm Saturday 14th March at Bedford Terrace. Massive thanks to long term supporter of the club Andy Bliss for sponsoring the match and to the chairman of the Y&E Scottish supporters club the one & only Liam Collow who is sponsoring the match ball.

After last Saturday’s excellent away three points against Park View, it’s a tough game against a team that has been a bit of a thorn in our side this season & also throughout our time in the Northern league. On paper it’s a promotion candidate vs a team in the relegation battle. But we know on paper counts for nothing in division two.
There was a few knocks picked up against Park View last week and Jacko will be hoping for pretty much a full squad being available. Josh Marshall is suspended, but midfielder Charlie Fixter had a run out for the U21s last weekend as he made his return from injury & he’ll be pushing for selection in the squad.

Prudhoe come in to the game in 19th place, just above the relegation places. They are P34 W8 D5 L21 for their 29points. They’ve scored 37 and conceded 69. Away from home they are P17 W4 D4 L9. They’ve got a better away record than home record, taking 16 points away from home compared to 13 points at Essity Park.
In their last six league games they are LLLLWW with important victories 3-0 vs Esh Winning and 2-1 last weekend at home against Tow Law. Kieron Symington on target on 7 & 22 for Prudhoe, before Tow Law got one back on 60.
We’ve already played Prudhoe twice this season and both games ended up in defeat for us. Back in early October we lost 2-1 at Essity Park. Prudhoe opening the scoring on 22 through Thomas Wilson, Tom equalising on 48 before Brad Lowes scored on 66. Prudhoe made it very difficult for us that day and stopped us from getting any rhythm going. We followed that up with a 3-1 home defeat in the Brookes Mileson league cup on a soaking wet Tuesday in November. A Brad Rogers Pen on 23 & Steve Anderson goal on 30 putting the visitors 2-0 up at half time. A Foz Garton corner went straight in on 47 to give us hope but that was snuffed out on 54 when Freddie Marr scored. Another poor showing against Prudhoe who were the better team and deserved to go through.
In the corresponding fixture last season we drew 0-0. Our only victory against Prudhoe being an impressive 4-0 victory away at Essity Park last March. Hillers opening the scoring on 18 with a worldie, JL10 scoring a minute later, Reece McMann ln 40 before Sam Lawerence sealed it on 70.
Yes the Boro are at home in a 1230 kick off, but hopefully plenty of the double hatted Y&E support you can get two Saturday games in. It’s a huge game for us as we seek to keep the pressure on Redcar at the top of the league and keep the gap between us and the other teams in the playoff places.
As ever there will be hot food & drinks available in the cafe. Club merchandise available to buy and Minty will have his half time blind card on sale. We also have a printed programme packed with plenty to read.
Howay the mighty Y&E ⚪️🔵🦅
