It’s a second consecutive Saturday away from home to start the season as the Y&E head up the A19 to Perth Green to face Jarrow. It’s an early season showdown between the second & third placed teams from last season. The game kicks off at 3pm – postcode for Perth Green is NE32 4AQ.

Our opponents have won one & lost one of their first two games both of which have been at home. An entertaining 4-3 win over Alnwick last Saturday was followed by a 2-1 defeat midweek against Park View CLS. They’ll be looking to get more points on the board against us today.
Last season we had two cracking wins against Jarrow. An early season 3-2 classic at home with JL10, Reece and Harry Williams on tbe scoresheet for us, with Levi Collins and and a late Benjamin Shoedine on target for Jarrow. Then an excellent away win in the run up to Christmas as we came back from a goal down to win 2-1. Cam Wild and Tom Atkinson with the goals that day.
After Tuesday’s home draw against Newbiggin, Jacko and the squad will be looking to get back to winning ways. A much improved second half display in midweek, where we created plenty of chances but just couldn’t get the winner.
Squad wise, Jacko will be checking the Oasis tour schedule once more to see which squad member is indulging in some 1990s rock n roll nostalgia! It’s always a busy time of year, but once again the management team will have a strong squad available for the game. There are no new injury concerns in the squad, with CF7 and JL10 both continuing their rehab to get back to full fitness.
If you are travelling up to the game, the Red Hackle pub is always good for some pre and post game refreshment. Remember though it is cash only at the pub! Also make sure when you leave the ground you don’t drive down the bus lane and incur a fine. Chairman Jimmy Francis will not be signing off any bus lane fine related expense claims!
