FC Hartlepool make the trip down the A689 to face the Y&E today, in potentially the pick of Saturday’s fixtures in Ebac Northern League Division Two.
The game kicks off at 3pm at Bedford Terrace. Gates open from 2pm. Thanks to our matchball sponsors Maurice & Andrew Fixter. We have printed programmes on sale, the cafe has pies, burgers, hot dogs & a range of hot drinks on sale.

We also have some Y&E merch on sale if you are in need of a last minute Christmas Gift. Books, Bobble Hats & pin badges will be available at the game.
FC Hartlepool come in to the match as league leaders. They’ve got 54 points from 26 games, just in front of Redcar Towm who are on the same points after 22 games. The Y&E sit in 4th place with 48 points from 23 games.
In the league they’ve won 5 out their last 6 games. Overall they’ve played 26 – W16, D3 and L6. They are second top scorers in the league with 52 goals.
Away from home they’ve won 3 and drawn 3 of their last 6 away games. Defeats at Durham Utd, Park View and RCA – which were all 2-1 defeats, with wins against Newbiggin, Tow Law and Ryton. Their overall away record is P11, W5, D1 and L5.
Last time out for FC Hartlepool they won 3-1 at home against Synners on Wednesday, with 2 goals from Nathan Bayes & another from Fin Smith.
We played them back in August at Grayfields Enclosure and were on the wrong side of a 1-0 defeat. Mikey McGee with a 14th minute goal. Last season at home we won 2-1, JL10 on 3 mins, Tom Atkinson with a 47th minute penalty and Mikey McGee scoring on 62 mins. Away from home last season we lost 4-2. Ste Robers scored on 23, but 2 goals each from Nathan Bayes and Mikey McGee and a late Tom Atkinson goal rounded out the scoring.
Just by reading the above you can pick out who the danger man is for FC Hartlepool. McGee seems to like playing against us. He’s scored 12 in all competitions so far this season, just behind Nathan Bayes on 12 goals.
The Y&E have Harry Stewart Titchner starting the first of a two game suspension. Jack Dalton is back following his Suspension finishing against Jarrow. CF7 and JL10 (or should that be JL11) now both got more minutes in the legs over the last week and are getting back that match sharpness. Both are likely to feature again today. The players will have a had a very timid Mad Friday as they look to prepare for a big game against a fellow promotion hopeful.
Winning against Jarrow was important for us to get the defeat against Tow Law out of the system. Now it’s a chance to build on that and get a big three points against a tough team. Boro are away, Stockton Town are away, if you want your Saturday football fix on Teesside – this is the game to go to. We would love your support at the match today. It should be a Christmas Cracker.
See you there.
Howay the mighty Big game Y&E 🔵⚪️🦅
