Match day parking is available at the ground at £3 per car. Again this is cash only.

Thanks to our sponsors David Knowles Funeral Service & Cutting Edge Grounds Maintenance for sponsoring the game.

Thanks to all of our sponsors throughout the season. We really appreciate your support

With nearly 750 tickets sold in advance, the Y&E will be backed by our biggest ever away following on what promises to be a fantastic night for the club.

It’s the first of three finals in 6 days, with the playoff final against Jarrow on Saturday and the Ernest Armstrong League Cup final next Monday.

It will be no easy task against a Boro Rangers side who go in to the game as favourites. They finished 5th in Northern League Divsion Two this season on 63 points. Their record was P36 W19 D6 L11 F67 A43. They recorded the second best defensive record in Divison one. They lost 1-0 away at Shildon in the Divison 1 playoff semi final last Saturday.

Their route to the final included a 2-1 2nd round win vs Middlesbrough U21s. They followed that up with a 3-1 win vs Redcar Town in the QF and they took a lemon top cup double with an impressive 1-0 win vs Northern Premier League East winners Redcar Athletic in the semi final.

It’s been a few years since we’ve played Boro Rangers in a competive fixture. The last time being a 1-0 win away at New Ferrens Park Durham back in December 2021 when a late Jack Dalton goal gave the Y&E the points in a very competitive game. Earlier that season we won 2-0 at Conyers with an Ian Danby inspired victory.

It’s not the first time we’ve played each other in a cup final. Way back in May 2021 Boro Rangers were 3-1 winners at Conyers in the North Riding Saturday Cup.

Looking through both clubs recent team sheets, there is a fair few players still representing their clubs who played in those fixtures.

Players to watch for Boro Rangers include striker Stu Rose, midfielder Chay Liddle who signed from Redcar Athletic earlier this season.

As for the Y&E, the lads have continued their superb run of form with victories last week against Ryton in the Ernest Armstrong Semi Final and Seaham Red Star in the second division play off semi final. We go on to the game full of confidence and used to the big occasion. Yes it’s the Riverside, but the lads will be focussed on the game and will go about things as we have done throughout the season, be that at the Ford Hub or the Riverside.

It was always going to be one of the games that every player wants to play in and Jacko will have some extremely tough decisions to make in terms of team selection. There will also be one eye on the playoff final.

It’s been a full squad effort to get to the final. With players from across the first team and U21s representing the team in the three games so far. Special mention to Cam Thomson who scored the equaliser on his debut against Scarborough, James Nicholson, Sean Earl, , Ste Innes and Grant Catnach from the U21s who all played in our cup run. Grant only took one touch and that was to bury a penalty in the shoot out win at Scarborough. Ice Man! Everyone has contributed to getting us to the final.

For the club to be playing at the Riverside shows how far we have progressed since we started in 2017. From Preston Park to where we are now in 9 years. Not bad eh?

There will be a fair few at the game enjoying their first ever Y&E game. Welcome along! You’ve picked a hell of a game to start with. Your support is massively appreciated and we look forward to seeing you at games on the future. We’ve got another couple of finals coming up if you didn’t know!

To all supporters old and new -enjoy it.

Watching your local football team in a final is special. This squad is special.

Let’s Get behind the lads and back them throughout the game. Let’s make it a night to remember.

Be Loud. Be Proud. Be Y&E.
