Boldon CA Next up for the Y&E

Boldon CA are our visitors on Saturday as the Y&E look to get back to winning ways

With no midweek game, it seems like a long time since our home defeat against Redcar Town. Next up for us is another home game as we welcome Boldon CA down the A19 in what promises to be another tough Ebac Northern League game.  The match is sponsored by Neil McNally Design and the match ball is kindly sponsored by the Mockingbird Deli on Yarm High street.  Thanks both for your support.  You will be reading this on our new website, which Neil McNally Design has created for us, alongside giving some of the committee some training.  Thanks again for all your support Neil. If you do need any Graphic design work or web design – get in touch with Neil.

The game kicks off at 3pm, with gates open from 2pm.  Time to watch the Boro away at Preston on TV and then get yourself to Bedford Terrace to watch the Y&E!  Refreshments are on sale from the cafe, printed match programmes on sale and there is a chance to win a bottle of wine on Minty’s legendary half time draw!.  What more could you ask for.

Boldon CA come in to the game sitting in 4th place after an impressive start to the season.  Their management duo of Dan Crooks and David Palmer celebrated one year in charge this week, and they will be delighted with how they have began this campaign.  Away from The Villa, they’ve won 3, drawn 2 and lost 1 of their last 6 away games, scoring 7 and conceding 5 in the process.  Their away defeat was a 1-0 loss at Redcar Town.  Last time out in the league they drew 1-1 away at Alnwick.  They were in action in midweek in the Durham Senior Cup, where they lost 3-1 away at Wearside League outfit Farringdon Detached. Last season, we had a convincing 7-0 away win in August, but we drew 0-0 with Boldon in March.

Jacko and the management team will be hoping to welcome back Marshy in to the squad after he was unavailable last week.  Club stalwart Jack Dalton is back available after a one game suspension  against Redcar Town.  Striker Tom Atkinson will hopefully be back after missing the last couple of games with an injury.

The Y&E currently sit in 10th in the league, and will be hoping to secure the three points on Saturday to keep them near the top of the table before a run of tough away trips in the league and FA Vase over the next 10 days.

As ever your support is appreciated.  Hope to see plenty of you there backing the lads!
