No rest for Y&E as we are off on our travels on Tuesday night as we prepare to face Boldon away from home in what is our first league trip away since a tough game at Park View. Off the back of an impressive victory against Durham Utd, the Y&E will be looking to keep the pressure on at the top of the table. As ever thanks to Dragontail Consulting for sponsoring our away fixtures this season.
The game takes place at the Villa, Boldon NE35 9AN. Kick off 7.30pm
After re-establishing ourselves at the top of the league,we face a tough test away at Boldon CA. Looking at th table, many will have us as favourites against a Boldon side who have struggled to find wins recently, compared to the beginning of the season where they got off to a good start to the campaign. Overall for the season Boldon have P37 W8 D7 L22 which leaves them in 20th place on 32 points, only one point from safety currently due to their inferior goal difference compared to Prudhoe.
The reverse fixture ended in a 3-1 win for Y&E back in September with Cam Wild and Tom Atkinson on the scoresheet (to no one’s surprise). At that point in the season we handed Boldon only their third loss of the campaign at a point where they were a lot higher up in the table. Last season we ran out 7-0 winners at the Villa, a Tom Hat Trick and goals from Leo, Ste, Josh Larkin and Dan Jones. At home last season we drew 0-0, in late March, a game that dented our title hopes. Fingers crossed for no repeat of that tomorrow!

Up at the other end of the table, we have been flying recently, only failing to pick up all three points in three of our last twelve games (all of which were draws). The scoring form continues with Tom’s hat-trick and Charlie’s brace last Saturday contributing to 21 goals scored in the last six league games and only 5 conceded. Confidence will be high for the lads as they look to continue the run and end the season strong to give us the best chance of promotion.
6 huge games to go for Y&E as we will look to continue our unbeaten run and finish as strongly. We hope to see you up there on Tuesday night getting behind the lads to help them get over the line against a team that will be tough to play on their own turf. It’s a 7:30 kick off on Tuesday, let’s hope for a nice sunset and no rain as we try for the win.
