After last Saturday’s impressive 5-0 win against Prudhoe it’s a chance to make the semi final of the Ernest Armstrong league cup for the second successive season. The Y&E are on an impressive run of form, tight at the back and scoring up front. Dan Jones chipping in with a superb hat trick against Prudhoe, to make up for the absence of top scorer Tom Atkinson. There may be a couple of changes to starting XI as Jacko looks to give some of the squad some more valuable minutes on the pitch and to potentially rest a few of the players ahead of an extremely busy run in to close the season out. Midfielder Josh Marshall is back from a two game suspension and fellow midfielder Charlie Fixter came made us first team return on Saturday.

In our way is a Billy Town side who had a good 4-0 away win at Boldon last Saturday. All four goals coming after 77minutes including 2 in stoppage time. That made up for a 2-0 defeat at Boldon in the Brookes Mileson league cup last Tuesday.

In the last round of the Ernest Armstrong League Cup they beat Sunderland West End 3-1 at home. Charlie Watt, Gary Mitchell and Reece Littlefair on the scoresheet. The round before that the beat local rivals Synners 7-4 in a mental game. 2-0 down after six minutes, they scored 2 goals in a minute to level it up on 12. Before going in 5-2 at half time. Two goals for each team in the second half and it finished 7-4.

We’ve played Town once already this season. An early John Stephenson goal was enough to seal a 1-0 win for the landlords. Jacko and the lads will be hoping to put that right as we look to defend our Ernest Armstrong Trophy from last season.

A Tuesday night Teesside derby under the lights. Weather forecast looks good, pitch will be in fine nick, all set for an enjoyable evening of association football.

We’ll see you there.
