Next up for the Y&E is a Tuesday night home game against Newton Aycliffe. Kick-off is 7:30pm at Bedford Terrace (TS23 4AG).

Thanks to match sponsor PF Developments and match ball sponsor Tooth Express. Your support is massively appreciated.

It’s still the international break and the weather forecast looks decent again—so there’s no excuse not to get down to support the lads.

Saturday at Crook saw us take all three points after a Cam Wild header / Ste Roberts free-kick (delete as appropriate) nestled into the back of the net in stoppage time. That followed Jack Dalton’s stoppage-time equaliser at home against Blyth Town last Tuesday. An important four points in two games has kept us in fifth place in the league.

Newton Aycliffe make the trip over to Bedford Terrace sitting in 9th place in the league on 19 points. Their record is P14 W5 D4 L5 F19 A21. Away from home, they are P6 W1 D1 L4 (GD -8). Their sole away win was a 1-0 victory at Easington, and their last away game was a 3-0 defeat at Crook Town.

Last time out saw them draw 1-1 with Birtley Town, Brennan Fitzpatrick scoring on 44 minutes, with Birtley equalising through a penalty on 72 minutes. Sam Johnson is their danger man with nine goals in all competitions (six in the league).

The Y&E have had an impressive start to the campaign—with a third of the season gone, we are in 5th place on 24 points. With no game at the weekend, it’s important to keep up the momentum, but the management team and players know it will be a tough ask against a good Newton Aycliffe side.

Midfielder Harry Stewart Titchner played for the reserves on Saturday as he continues his comeback from injury and could make the matchday squad. Marshy’s suspension following his booking on Saturday doesn’t kick in until this coming Saturday, so he is available. There were a few knocks over the past couple of games, but the lads have shown their strength and resilience with our late goals, although it isn’t doing much for the nerves of the supporters!

As ever, we will have the 50/50 draw, match programmes available, and food available in the café. We look forward to seeing you at the game!
