Next up for the Y&E is a home game against Kendal Town on Saturday, 5th September. It’s a 3:00 PM kick-off, with gates opening from 2:00 PM.

A big thanks to our match sponsor, Paul Stoker, and Y&E OAP away day connoisseur Jim Topping for sponsoring the match ball.

Kendal make the trip over to Bedford Terrace sitting in 15th place in the league, having taken nine points from their opening seven games. Away from home, their record stands at P3 W0 D2 L1. Last time out, they secured an impressive 5-4 home win against Blyth Town, coming back from 4-2 down to win with dramatic goals in the 79th, 89th, and 93rd minutes. Prior to that, they were defeated 4-2 at home by Heaton Stannington in an FA Cup replay, following a 2-2 draw away (where a 100th-minute penalty denied them victory).

Last season, the Mintcakes finished in 7th place, missing out on the play-offs by just four points. Their form on the road was strong—P18 W10 D5—giving them a better record away from home than at home.

Following our midweek win away at Whickham, the Y&E sit in 4th place on 17 points after nine games. As with recent matches, there are still a few injuries in the squad, but key players are closing in on a return. Jack Dalton managed 45 minutes in midweek, while Harry Stewart-Titchner is getting closer to full fitness, giving Jacko a few selection decisions to make.

Up front, Mikey (4), Ste (5), and Tom (7) have all made strong starts in front of goal across league and cup competitions, and they’ll be looking to add to their tallies on Saturday.

With Boro playing away at QPR, it would be fantastic to see a big crowd turn out to back the lads. We’ll have the 50/50 halftime draw, the café open for hot food, and printed matchday programmes on sale at the gate.
