Next up for the Y&E is a trip up the A1 to Tyneside to take on Whickham FC. The game kicks off at 7:30pm at the Glebe.

Thanks once again to our away match sponsor, Dragontail Consulting.

Whickham have had a challenging couple of weeks following the resignation of their management team and the departure of several players. Their game last Tuesday against Blyth Town was postponed as a result. However, a lot of hard work behind the scenes enabled them to put a team together, with Andy Kingsland appointed as interim manager. Although they went down 9-0 away at Easington, the main positive was that they were able to field a side and keep playing. By all accounts, their young squad did the club proud.

Prior to those departures, Whickham had made a strong start to their league campaign with a 5-0 victory over Carlisle City and a 2-1 win against local rivals Blue Star. They currently sit 12th in the table (P8 W3 D2 L3 F13 A19).

It will be a tough fixture for the Y&E, and we will be taking nothing for granted. The lads will be looking to carry forward the impressive work rate shown in the second half against Blue Star and hope for a few better breaks of the ball! With players returning from injury and others coming back into availability, Jacko is likely to have his strongest and largest squad of the season to choose from.

Hopefully, we will see a strong showing from the Y&E faithful backing the lads. Whickham have asked supporters to use the overflow car park at the rear of the ground and to not use the residentual street leading to the main entrance to the ground.

Parking Postcode: NE16 4PF (the overflow car park on the side of the pitch).
