Ryton and Crawcrook Albion (h) – Match Preview

After the the Y&E’s fantastic away North Riding Senior Cup quarter final victory against Scarborough Athletic it’s back to league action as Ryton & Crawcrook Albion make the trip to Bedford Terrace. The game kicks off at 3pm and is sponsored by Dragontail Consulting and the matchball sponsored by Brad Todd. Thank you for your support- it is massively appreciated.

With all the rain recently – we will be checking the pitch in the morning. Keep an eye on our social media for information.

Ryton come in to the game in good form since the start of 2026, they beat Seaham 5-1 away followed by a 1-0 win at home against Park View. So far this season they have played 30 W15 D3 and L13. They sit in 8th place in the league on 48 points. With 7th place Park View (53points) only 2 points behind 2nd place Jarrow, a win against us will see Ryton close the gap to the play off places.

Away from home, RACA have scored 23 and conceded 18. They are W5, D1 and L6 of their 12 away games. They’ve won 4 and lost 2 of their last 6 away games.

The two Louis’ are the players to watch. Anderson and Calvert have scored 28 goals between them this season. Anderson bagging a hattrick against Seaham earlier this month.

The Y&E were victorious in our clash earlier in the season. Goals from Joe Dalton and Pete Bulmer sealed a 2-0 win in early September. It was a fantastic away performance from the Y&E, where we defended superbly and took our chances. We were helped by Louis Anderson hitting the bar from the spot. The Old Haulage stadium is always a difficult place to go, and Ryton are a strong physical side. For me that was one of our best performances of the season.

In the corresponding fixture last season we ran out 3-0 winners back in early February.. A 40th minute finish from Tom was followed by an early second half red card for Jack Errington. A Marshy header for our second and then a JL10 finish made it three.

Confidence in the Y&E camp is high after Tuesday night, but we will need to be at our best to take a win against Ryton. There may be a couple of changes from midweek with Marshy, Tom, Dan Jones and Proc back available for selection. Joe Dalton is back available from suspension. Jacko has some tough choices to make with team selection.

With the Boro playing at 1230 there is plenty of time for you to the get from the Riverside to Bedford Terrace for the Y&E. Double up for your Teesside football fix. We’ll keep the gate open for you!

Printed Programmes will be on sale at the game. As ever there will be a half time bottle draw and the cafe will be open selling top quality pies & burgers. Every penny spent there goes direct to the club.

We’ll see you there backing the Y&E!! #utyae
